Walter Miller

Walter Francis Miller, 89, of Hilo, died March 24, 2016, at home. Born Dec. 28, 1926, in Watertown, Oahu, he was retired from the Federal Aviation Administration, a retired specialty home and general contractor, an elder for Pacific Christian Fellowship, and a World War II Army veteran.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. April 2 at Hilo Missionary Church, 1044 Komohana St. for a 5 p.m. service. Graveside committal service is at 9 a.m. April 4 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No.2. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by sons, Walter Miller of Mountain View, Melvin (Joy) Miller of Utah; daughter, Norrie Judd of Hilo; sisters, Amy Roberson of Texas, Gertrude Graves of California, Marjorie Steeves of Canada; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews.

Harold Sumaoang

Harold “H Dog” Leones Sumaoang, 54, of Kailua-Kona, died Feb. 28, 2016, at his residence. Born July 4, 1961, in Honolulu, he was a retired lieutenant for Hawaii County Police Department.

He is survived by wife, Catherine Idos Sumaoang; sons, James Sumaoang, Isaac (Estella) Sumaoang, all of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Gina Sumaoang, of Haleiwa, Oahu; brothers, Benedict (Delacy) Sumaoang, of Portland, Ore., Eddie Sumaoang, of Los Angeles; sister, Evelyn Amaral, of England; one granddaughter.

Teodoro Francisco

Teodoro “Ama” Francisco, 103, of Keaau, died March 9, 2016, at his residence. Born Nov. 1, 1912, in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he worked for Mr. Papaya and S&L Papaya Co. and was a member of the Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. April 1 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. April 2 at Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Casual attire; flowers are welcomed. Burial at Pahoa Catholic Cemetery.

He is survived by daughters, Cenona Vallente, Nancy (Petronio) Daquioag, both of Keaau, Feliciana Dela Cruz, of Kapaau, Flordelina Calapit, of Pahoa; son, Emiliano (Soledad) Francisco, of Pahoa; sister, Damiana Rosete, of Philippines; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces.

Efren Niedo

Efren G. Niedo, 42, of Hilo, died March 14, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 27, 1974, in the Philippines, he was a dietary kitchen aid at Life Care Center of Hilo.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. April 3 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. April 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m Mass. Casual attire and flowers are welcomed. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section.

He is survived by wife, Evelyn Niedo, of Hilo; son, Jan Gio Niedo, of Hilo; mother, Carlina Niedo, of Philippines; brothers, Marvin Niedo, Jerome Niedo, both of Philippines; sister, Marites Niedo, of Philippines; grandparents, Casimiro and Cesaria Cacho, of Hilo; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mabel Niulani

Mabel Niulani Silva, 82, of Hilo, died Feb. 21, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired secretary for Hawaiian Airlines and a member of Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church in Keaukaha.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. April 3 at the Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church for a 7 p.m. celebration of life. A memorial Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. April 4 at the Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church; burial will follow at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Aloha attire.

She is survived by sons, Rudolph Silva Jr., of Hilo, Dwayne Silva, of Hilo; sisters, Marie (Albert) Kelson and Claudia Spillman, both of Hilo, and Janice Thomas of Waimea; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Victoria Lopez

Victoria Marie Lopez, 69, of Volcano, died March 25, 2016, at home. Born in Denver, she was a retired maintenance worker and member of the Puna Covenant Church.

Friends may call at 1 p.m. April 2 at Puna Covenant Church in Keaau for a service. The family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by son, Leonard Lopez of Volcano; daughter, Michele Lopez of Kalapana; brother, Frank (Rin) Kucler of Grand Junction, Colo.; sister, Starline (Dennis) Collins of Grand Junction, Colo.
